As of 1 February, Maverick Presentation Products will open in operation, adding to its established businesses in the UK and Spain. The announcement of the new operation – which is based out of Lisbon – coincides with the high-profile appointment of Maverick as the Promethean distributor for Portugal.
“We are delighted to open Maverick in Portugal,” said Maverick Europe director Jon Sidwick (pictured). “We see this as a great opportunity to develop a strong specialist business focused on delivering resellers a strong set of leading brands with great support.”
Looking to the future, Sidwick told II that Maverick will “focus on developing towards being the only pan-European specialist AV distributor. As a service-focused business with technical expertise we see an opportunity, working with our key suppliers, to expand into a seven-country business in 2010. We will sell our range of Vision installation accessories in each country. In addition, we are rolling out our lamp replacement business, Hotlamps, into another six countries, giving us a total of 16.”
