Driving LED displays to new heights

Macroblock’s new LED driver ICs cover applications from XR to automotive

Driver integrated circuits (IC) are at the heart of today’s displays, and Macroblock is demonstrating its latest common cathode LED driver ICs for a wide range of applications.

The new MBI5762 driver IC for virtual production and extended reality displays, includes Hyper Vision Calculation to provide the best shooting quality, with smooth low-grey gradient without visual problems (such as black bands and flickering). It also supports dynamic frame rate adjustment, up to 240fps, suitable for multi-camera shooting and slow-motion shooting, and also improves the low-grey refresh rate.

The new MBI5756 and MBI5754 driver ICs for general displays include an internal DLL (delay locked loop) circuit that generates high grey-scale clock frequency and reduces electromagnetic interference. They also support dynamic frame rate adjustment.

Its new MBI5780 driver IC for super fine pitch displays include Dead Pixel Isolation II, which prevents LED visual problems such as cross effects caused by failed LEDs, and caterpillar issues caused by short LEDs. It is compatible with uLED displays and features low current accuracy. The MBI5780 is suitable for vehicle displays and is currently undergoing automotive reliability (AEC-Q100) certification.
