InstallAwards 2014 finalists – Education category

Here are the finalists in the Education category of the 2014 InstallAwards. The winners will be announced at a black tie event at the Hilton London Wembley on the evening of 12 June.

Best Project Award

Biamp – Purdue University

Biamp AudiaFLEX has been used to create a single, large DSP audio network that spans the entire facility – with master control at reception, and localised room control in each of the spaces within the facility – from the Olympic-sized pool to the climbing wall to meeting rooms.

CDEC – Phoenix Academy

Meyer Sound – LSU

The Louisiana Digital Media Center at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge has a number of advanced audio and video systems installed. Its 200-seat auditorium is the first venue in the world with both a full SMPTE-standard, 7.1-surround Meyer Sound cinema system along with a Constellation active acoustic system.

MultiTouch – TU Dresden

Technische Universität Dresden (TU Dresden) has the largest interactive display wall for research purposes in Europe – measuring approximately 5m by 2.5m. The turnkey installation consists of twelve 55” MultiTaction iWall panels, and recognises finger touches, complete hands, infrared pens and objects.

Stage Electrics – Guildhall School of Music & Drama

Milton Court at the Guildhall School is a new, purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility comprising a 608-seat world-class concert hall, a 227-seat theatre, a studio theatre, a television studio and three rehearsal rooms. One of the most unusual aspects of the project was its sub-basement location beneath a tower block in central London.
