Following on from the announcement of the finalists for the Team of the Year Awards, here we present the three finalists for the inaugural Rising Star Award, sponsored by Prospero Recruitment.
This award will go to someone aged under 30 or who has fewer than three years of industry experience but who has used that time to make a huge impact in the AV world.
- Calum Findlay, network AV engineer, Streamtec
Calum graduated from Abertay University with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computing & Networking, First Class before joining Streamtec in June 2014. Only 23 years of age, he has grown in experience and is counted on by the company and its clients for his helpful, can do attitude and his commitment to excellent work.
- Ty Howden, full stack developer, embed signage
Twenty-one-year-old Ty is a full stack developer and has led the development of embed signage from day one. Before this he worked closely on developing technical solutions for Onelan, who were so impressed with his technical development skills that they have showcased his work for the past four years at ISE and other events around the world.
- Madeleine Vining, senior AV technician, Royal Society of Medicine
Madeleine joined the Royal Society of Medicine as a trainee AV technician in late 2012. In less than three years she has progressed to AV technician and senior AV technician supervising a team of five other AV techs across two buildings with three lecture theatres and 24 other meeting spaces. She has immersed herself fully in the industry, participating in Women in AV, the AV User Group and attending trade shows and training events.
These awards will be judged by a panel of independent industry experts, and will be presented at a glittering ceremony at the Grand Connaught Rooms on Friday 24 June. Tickets for the event are available now from: www.installawards.com/buy-tickets.
