The year began with our annual ISE edition – which focused on the 21st anniversary of the leading AV expo. Elsewhere, we discussed what steps are being taken to ensure more women regard pro AV as an appealing career option. We also analysed how companies can fully ‘harness hybrid’. Finally, in the first of a two-parter, we unveiled what we believe to be the most dynamic AV vendors for 2025, with – across this issue and next – 75 companies making the cut.
Our March/April issue looked at immersive audio and its evolution. W also looked at how AV in the home was driving innovation across pro AV, and reported from the floor of ISE 2025. Finally, we presented the second part of our Top 75 AV vendors for 2025.
Our May edition took a deep dive into displays and signage, looking at the most innovative, up-to-date tech from some of the leading manufacturers. Of course, we couldn’t ignore projectors, and we also checked out what was hot and what was not in the front-projector market. May’s big-venue loudspeakers article looked at loudspeaker tech for festivals and large venues: the brands, products and solutions favoured by venues, whether they were permanent or temporary installations, tech innovations, and more. That issue’s houses of worship feature took a long, hard look at the AV technologies deployed within houses of worship – from local English village churches to huge places of worship in the United States.
SUMMER MAGIC
June took a long hard look at control rooms and their role in advancing AV technology. We also discussed the rise and rise of IP-based networking in our AVoIP feature, and investigated AI and data centres. Also in this edition, we previewed InfoComm 2025, highlighting key sessions and events, with conferencing and collaboration dominating. Part one of our special report into the use of AV in transport hubs looked at how key decision-makers globally are racing to upgrade digital signage and audio systems to improve the passenger experience.
July/August celebrated AV’s contribution to the ongoing evolution in retail and hospitality. Elsewhere, in part 2 of our deep dive into the use of AV in travel hubs, we discovered how integrators resolved formidable technical challenges. Our report from Glastonbury Festival unlocked the AV secrets behind the stages. And in an exclusive extract from our eBook – Focus on Pro Audio – we discussed how audio was punching above its weight in AV.
The September/October edition focused on the ongoing convergence between AV and broadcast. Our lead feature celebrated the latest phase of this burgeoning tech union, with IP protocols and networking infrastructures fuelling the convergence, and increasingly shared ground across display, production and audio technologies. In a related article, we looked at the many broadcast-centric vendors and system integrators venturing into pro AV. Elsewhere, we examined presentation tool technology.
November’s edition majored on education, with the lead feature exploring growing investment in interactive, mixed reality and AI technologies. In addition, Logitech’s Gaurav Bradoo offered tips for educators deploying complex AV technology. Elsewhere, we present in-depth articles on opportunities in both the health and houses of worship sectors for AV integrators and manufacturers, along with a deep dive into the expanding resimercial and prosumer sub-sectors that bridge residential and commercial AV.
Finally, our December edition focused on the incredible Arcadia Dragonfly installation at Glastonbury Festival, wowing festivalgoers since 2024. Elsewhere, were articles on the latest developments in live events and immersive tech, driven by a renewed appetite for live entertainment and a surge in corporate events.
