Extron to expand corporate HQ

Extron Electronics is expanding its HQ with the construction of a new six-storey building adjacent to its current facilities in Anaheim, California.

Extron Electronics is expanding its HQ with the construction of a new six-storey building adjacent to its current facilities in Anaheim, California. The new 200,000sqft complex – due for completion in the autumn of 2011 – will feature training facilities that are 20% larger than the current location.

The new training facilities will occupy 15,000sqft and include three classrooms, a demo room and an audio lab. Two of the classrooms will have movable walls in order to allow them to accommodate larger groups.

The new building will also have notable energy-efficient credentials thanks to a design featuring dual-pane tinted glass, extra thermal insulation and ice thermal energy storage technology.

Extron president Andrew Edwards commented: “We look forward to serving our customers better with additional classes and larger training facilities. Extron continues to hire. The new headquarters building provides the space needed for the new employees required to support our expanding product line.”

Expanding on the decision to go ahead with the building at this time, an Extron spokesperson told IE: “Extron is always committed to providing customers [with] the best service, support and solutions in the industry. By expanding our corporate headquarters, we are able to increase the size and scope of our training facilities, giving us the opportunity to enhance our range of training and certification options. The new building will also give us room to add additional staff to support our expanding product line.”
