CEDIA names new EMEA chairman

CEDIA EMEA has announced that Giles Sutton (pictured), managing director of integration firm, James+Giles, is the new chair of its volunteer board of directors.

Sutton steps up to the new position, after a six-month term as vice chairman and takes over from Kris Hogg to provide leadership on the board as it continues its work in supporting the growth of the industry across EMEA and shaping its strategic direction in the years ahead.

“On behalf of the board and the CEDIA EMEA team, I would like to extend my deep appreciation and thanks to Kris for his hard work and significant contribution to the growth of the industry and the Association,” said Wendy Griffiths, executive director of CEDIA. “Kris agreed to extend his tenure beyond 2015 into 2016 to support Giles as he moved from board member to vice chair. Now that Giles is up to speed with the role of CEDIA chair and its responsibilities, that transition period is complete.”

Sutton brings with him more than 13 years’ of industry experience, business acumen and know-how as MD of London-based James+Giles, a CEDIA member company since 2007. He will lead a board featuring Melanie Malcolm from Bespoke Home Cinemas, Rob Sutherland from Inspired Dwellings, Christiaan Beukes from Sphere Custom, Sawan Nichani from MacBee, Philip Turner from Philharmonic Audio Visual, Laura Neuwirth Lazzerini from Studio LGL, Tom Butler from Artcoustic and Hamish Neale from Barco. Hogg leaves the board to focus on his own business, Konnectiv, and his continuing additional volunteer work with CEDIA.
