UK distributor AVM has announced that, with immediate effect, all Christie models will be covered by a four-year deinstall/reinstall warranty, over and above the manufacturer’s warranty, which the company believes will provide confidence for end users and give resellers an extra selling tool in difficult times.
Access to the warranty is very simple, according to AVM. Either the reseller or end user simply calls AVM with the serial number, and date and place of purchase. AVM will then arrange for an engineer to call, the faulty projector is removed, taken away and swapped with a replacement model of a similar age. Once the repair is complete, AVM’s engineer will return to reinstall the repaired unit.
AVM says that there is no need to pre register the unit and the service is fast: calls received before 3.00pm will usually receive a next day service.
“Christie projectors tend to go into high end installations,” said Mark Nisbet, AVM’s managing director (pictured). “A key requirement from users in that sector is ‘confidence’. The units are often in prestigious venues and if a problem occurs, they just want it sorted fast. This warranty gives all users confidence that they need never be left without a projector to use. We know our resellers are finding times tough at the moment and we have launched this service now to give them extra support in clinching sales. It’s an example of how AVM strive to add value for our customers.”
