The Inside Story acquires Get It In Writing to drive US expansion

The British pro AV marketing agency has agreed to purchase Get It In Writing, the US-based PR agency, and will create The Inside Story Americas, a wholly owned subsidiary based in Las Vegas

Ahead of its tenth year in business, British pro AV marketing agency The Inside Story, has agreed to acquire Get It In Writing, the US-based PR agency led by industry veteran Daniel Liston Keller.

The result is The Inside Story Americas, a wholly owned subsidiary which will be based in Las Vegas and serve the broader Americas region, including the United States, Canada and LATAM. Like its parent company, The Inside Story Americas will offer a full suite of marketing services. Keller will serve the new company as president while Barney Jameson, founder of The Inside Story, will be CEO.

Keller has held the position of executive chair of the Audio Engineering Society in Los Angeles. He is also the co-founder of the Artist Brain Collective and moderates industry-focused panels at the NAMM Show, SXSW, and other industry gatherings. However, he is perhaps now best known as the host of the popular video podcast Insights In Sound.

Barney Jameson, a former industry journalist, editor and publisher, launched The Inside Story in 2016. Based in the UK but serving a global portfolio of clients, the agency offers a full suite of marketing services encompassing brand strategy, copywriting, PR and media relations, video, animation, graphic design, social media, digital marketing and website development.

Jameson said: “The Inside Story has always been a global agency but there comes a point when it’s time for boots on the ground and I think we’re incredibly fortunate to have Daniel on board to spearhead our US operation. Daniel’s legacy is beyond question, from Get It In Writing to his role with the AES, his advocacy work with Artist Brain Collective and now the popularity of Insights In Sound. He’s a great marketer and I can’t wait to build The Inside Story Americas with him.”

Daniel Keller added: “I’ve known Barney for a great many years and have watched him build The Inside Story into a powerhouse agency with international perspective and an impressive and diversely talented team.
