Bosch ProSound division inaugurates UK showroom

Bosch Security Systems' ProSound UK division officially opened its showroom in Peterborough on Tuesday 25 September. The facility will enable its customers to experience both its professional audio brands, Dynacord and Electro-Voice.

Bosch Security Systems’ ProSound UK division officially opened its UK showroom on September 25.

The Peterborough facility is available for demonstrations of its professional audio brands, Dynacord and Electro-Voice, to its UK customers, and opens several months after the company’s Big Day Out, held at Aston Villa football ground in May.

Before the ribbon was cut, Andrew Castle, VP finance (left of picture), Bosch, told of the “advanced” and “bespoke” solutions the division could now offer customers.

Cutting the red ribbon at the location in Peterborough was mayor of the town George Simons (right of picture). He jokingly admitted Bosch products had only ever made it into his power tool kits, but recognised the scale of the pro-audio operation that the subsidiary to the Bosch business empire has.

Robert Hesse (middle of picture) told Installation: “We wanted to use this opportunity today to introduce this facility to all our dealers. It’s not only our room it’s theirs, too; if they want to bring their own customers and have a demo or conduct training, then we can facilitate for that.”

Customers can visit the showroom to listen to the array of loudspeakers on permanent display. These include the company’s EV Innovation loudspeaker range for installs, which incorporate the EVU (under balcony), EVF (front loaded), and EVA (array). Also at the demo room are a number of Dynacord models such as the Dynacord Variline series.

“This [the showroom] was missing after we moved distribution from Shuttlesound to Bosch,” continued Hesse. “We needed a demo facility, because that‘s the only way to sell pro-audio equipment – to demonstrate the goods. So it was vital for us to have the showroom and the demo room to get everything in place.”

Rounding off the day, Bosch ProSound division auctioned off some of its models of Dynacord and Electro-Voice devices.

When asked about the European market, Hesse remarked: “We are very satisfied with the European and UK market. We’ve experienced growth this year with our brands so things are going well. We felt it was the right time to introduce this place and get more confidence back in our distribution.” The company had previously distributed through Shuttlesound up until the middle of last year.
