Alcons Audio is showing its latest pro-ribbon sound systems at Prolight + Sound as well as demoing new audio solutions. This includes two new pro-ribbon line array systems, one LR28 large-format the other a compact line array.
The LR28 larger-format line array is the result of five years of development, with the last two years dedicated to beta testing for the ‘proof of concept’. This has led to another two patents pending along with the four existing patents. This flagship system marks an important advance for the company within the concert touring and large-scale installation market.
The smaller format line array system, from the ‘sub-compact’ range, features symmetrical acoustic layout with three-way component configuration and a precise pattern control in both horizontal as well as vertical plane. The bi-amped system features a flat frequency response to beyond 20kHz and patented 90° x 10° dispersion from a purpose-built pro-ribbon driver platform.

The remote control for the Sentinel amplified loudspeaker controllers also features in Alcons’ Frankfurt presence. ALControl is the Alcons-proprietary ALC control software protocol, to control and monitor multiples of Sentinels; Grouping, overlay control of equalising, delay, as well as real-time monitoring, auto-discovery a.o. ALControl can be run from both Mac and PC platforms.
