Videocall integrates Polycom support into cloud update

Videoconferencing and telepresence service provider Videocall has launched version five of its VaaS platform ICE (Intelligent Cloud Experience), now integrated with Polycom RealConnect and RealPresence Web Suite Pro services.

Polycom RealConnect delivers single scheduling and dialling workflow within Skype for Business, and can also be used for single click-to-join for both Skype for Business clients and Polycom endpoints.

Managing director of Videocall Rob Portwood commented: “Adding Polycom RealConnect to our ICE service was a must. We know that many companies are using Skype for Business as part of the solution to their videoconferencing needs. What we have in ICE now allows the seamless connecting of all the workers on different platforms, whilst they continue to have the functionality and layout that they are used to. It is another step in our continual evolution of the ICE platform whereby we are delivering enterprise functionality to the cloud.”

RealPresence Web Suite Pro is an interoperable and scalable videoconferencing solution and adds multi-stream content sharing.

Portwood continued: “Our partnership with Polycom allows us to push the boundaries of our own services, which in turn continues to bring benefits to our customers. We know how our customers work, and we know what they want to be able to do via videoconferencing. Between Videocall and Polycom, we will not only get there, but continually go beyond their expectations.”

“This is a fantastic opportunity for our customers who are increasingly looking for solutions to bring their existing voice and video platforms in to the world of Lync and Skype for Business”, said Charlie James, alliance director EMEA, Polycom.

“The Videocall ICE service now allows customers to take full advantage of Polycom and Skype for Business solutions and integrate them into their existing platforms without having to place any additional infrastructure on premise. By the first half of 2016, customers moving to Office 365 will also be able to make use of the Videocall ICE service. What is really great about Videocall’s ICE service is that customers can take up the service in a phased approached which allows for greater adoption in the long run.”
