Video: A site visit of Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium – a “benchmark” for fan experiences

62,000 seats, over 1,800 displays, 4,000 speakers and the biggest jumbo screens in Britain – AVTE takes a look at the progress of London's newest stadium

“We are creating, what we believe, will be the finest stadium anywhere in the world for spectators, visitors and the wider community, delivering a major new landmark for Tottenham and London.”

That’s the view of London based Premier League football side Tottenham Hotspur, who’s now nearing completion of its brand new £850 million stadium.

With 62,000 spectators, the multipurpose venue – which will also be a UK home to the NFL – the stadium is being hailed by the club as a “benchmark” for stadium experiences, with technology playing a crucial role in achieving its ambitions.

To achieve this, the club has turned to four key AV suppliers; LG, who has supplied more than 1,800 LED displays throughout its concourse and premium areas, Harman (audio) creating a “state of the art” audio system, which includes 2,000 JBL speakers and Daktronics, installing four giant pitch facing screens, the biggest ever in a British stadium.

Ahead of the stadium’s opening (not set date and based on our visit, not for some time yet), AVTE paid a visit to North London (August 29) to take a look at its progress.

You can find out more about the technology being used inside the new stadium here, plus AVTE will be including an extensive feature, including exclusive interviews in the upcoming issue of AVTE. If you haven’t subscribed (it’s free!), click here now.
