U-Touch unveils touchscreens for Sony, plus European strategy

The product launch is the catalyst for the appointment of U-Touch's new channel partner across Europe.

Multi-touch technology specialist U-Touch Group has announced the launch of its touchscreen solutions for the Sony Bravia Pro range of professional displays.

The slim fit U-Touch screen is designed for use with both the HD and 4K models in the Sony Bravia range. The touch screen easily attaches to the front of the display, and can be setup in a matter of minutes. It allows static images and presentations to become fully interactive and compelling applications.

The product launch is the catalyst for a new partnership with TD Maverick as U-Touch’s channel partner across Europe.

According to Jeremy Stewart, director of U-Touch: “We have been looking to secure a credible distribution partner with significant reach across Europe, and TD Maverick fits that criteria perfectly. With our Polish manufacturing base we are well placed to support the way TD Maverick work with Sony through their central supply chain, serving the whole of the European market.”

For the higher-end 4K models, U-Touch employs ShadowSense technology, a new 6-touch point optical tracking technology that can detect the position and size of whatever initiates the touch, be that pen or finger. With no drivers, and plug-and-play connectivity it’s described as incredibly intuitive for users. According to U-Touch, ShadowSense provides the fastest tracking speed in its class, which is highly beneficial for screen annotation or drawing applications. It’s also unaffected by ambient light or sunlight, making it suitable for broadcast, retail, signage and meeting-room environments.
