Kinly hits sustainability milestone with net-zero validation

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), an independent body that verifies corporate climate commitments, has validated company's emissions reduction targets, a first for global systems integrators

Kinly has become the first global systems integrator to have its net-zero targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), an independent organisation that assesses whether corporate climate commitments align with the latest climate science.

The validation confirms that Kinly’s targets, methodologies, and calculations have passed SBTi’s assessment process. The company’s verified commitments include achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 2050, reducing absolute scope 1 and 2 emissions by 54.6 percent by 2033 from a 2023 base year, and reducing scope 3 emissions by 61.1 percent per EUR value added within the same timeframe.

A further target requires absolute scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions to be cut by 90 percent by 2050.

Ken Scaturro, CEO, Kinly, said the validation confirmed that the company’s ambitions were grounded in measurable commitments.

He added: “It reinforces that our net-zero ambitions are grounded in real science, real accountability, and real impact.”

Kinly was recently formed through the merger of the previously separate Kinly and Yorktel businesses. Scaturro added that the same SBTi methodology would now be applied across Yorktel’s operations as part of the combined group. Kinly currently holds EcoVadis Gold ratings across its Benelux, Norway, and UK operations, while Yorktel holds EcoVadis Committed certification.
