Smart Building Conference for ISE 2013

Integrated Systems Europe 2013 will feature ISE's first-ever Smart Building Conference, designed to bring together the worlds of construction and professional audiovisual technology.

Integrated Systems Events has revealed plans for the 2013 edition of the Integrated Systems Europe tradeshow, writes Paddy Baker. The ever-increasing interest in smart building technology will be reflected at ISE2013, both in the conference rooms and on the showfloor. ISE’s first-ever Smart Building Conference will take place on Monday 28 January (the day before the exhibition opens), supported by KNX and Connected Living. “As building automation and energy management become more important in the design and sustainability of both commercial and residential buildings, it is vital that we hear the voices of all those involved in their development – including architects, design consultants, developers, electrical contractors and more,” said Mike Blackman, Integrated Systems Events managing director, speaking at a press event in Amsterdam on Tuesday. The conference will share branding with Smart Building @ ISE – a dedicated area of the showfloo, which is set to be twice the size of the 2012 Energy Management Pavilion. These show features come as a direct result of the post-ISE2012 questionnaire, in which attendees expressed a desire to see more building automation, energy management and related technologies. The Smart Building Conference will be managed by new recruit Marieke Bouman, who has joined Integrated Systems Events in the new role of conference and events manager. As well as building and facilitating the conference programme at the ISE show, Bouman will also be developing ISE events at other times of the year. Blackman stressed that ISE was still looking to work with external partners to provide the content for conferences. www.iseurope.org
