Sheraton uses Tripleplay for hotel TV without set-top box

Technology from Tripleplay has been chosen to provide hospitality IPTV and video on demand services to each of the 246 rooms at the new Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Brisbane, Australia. Located at the heart of the city, the hotel opened to the public earlier this week.

The Tripleplay solution has been integrated directly onto a Philips Smart TV without a set-top box. It incorporates free-to-air and pay-TV channels, a variety of video on demand content, personal video recording (PVR), live electronic programme guide (EPG), BYOD functionality and integrates into the hotel property management system (PMS). These services are all accessed through a fully branded TV portal.

Tripleplay’s Jamie Hind commented; “Tripleplay are excited to work with Sheraton to deliver a comprehensive IP media solution and are looking forward to continuing to work closely with the brand to deliver more for the hotel and their guests.

“This new property is a fantastic addition to the Starwood portfolio and is a great option for travellers visiting the city. We’re delighted that guests will be using a Tripleplay TV portal.”

The solution was implemented by Tripleplay authorised partners iCoz and Global Gossip.
