Specialist projector manufacturer projectiondesign has chosen ISE 2010 to preview several projectors but the big surprise is the FR12, billed as the world’s first Remote Light Source projector.
The patent pending FR12 Remote Light Source concept relocates the lamps from the projector to a rack-mount enclosure up to 30m away from the projector head. Light from the remote unit illuminates the projector head via a Liquid Light Guide. The result is a compact, ruggedised, virtually maintenance-free projector head with completely silent operation, says the manufacturer. There are no limits on installation orientation and lamp maintenance is simplified.
Anders Løkke, international marketing & communications manager at projectiondesign, said the company “has made history” with its innovative projectors.
“Now we are taking projection technology a step further in simplifying maintenance, eliminating noise and dissipating heat, as well as offering greater integration and installation flexibility,” he added. “A typical application would be a 24/7 command and control room environment.”
While most exhibitors would probably be content with one world first for a show, projectiondesign is also demonstrating the new F35 wqxga, featuring Texas Instruments’ WQXGA DLP chip. Enjoying its European debut, this projector offers a resolution of 2,560×1,600 pixels – 78% more pixels than WUXGA.
Also at a European tradeshow for the first time is the MIPS WB2560 – projectiondesign’s first multi-image processor. Capable of providing geometry correction on a per-pixel basis for perfect image performance, the MIPS WB2560 is said to be infinitely scalable, allowing any number of channels to be combined to a single image, without limitations.
‘No lamps and no worries’ is projectiondesign’s promise for the FL32 projector, which uses ReaLED technology, combining long-life LED illumination with patented projectiondesign optics for an estimated 100,000 hours of low-maintenance, worry-free operation. Available in a choice of 1080p or WUXGA resolution, the FL32 is being shown at an ISE show for the first time.
