Planar announces Mosaic

Tiled displays for creative applications are becoming increasingly popular - and Planar has entered the market with Mosaic.

Just announced by Planar is Planar Mosaic, a video wall system featuring three different LCD display tiles, including a truly square tile. Tiles can be mounted in any position relative to each other, or individually – at almost any angle.

Designed in response to the growing demand for the use of display technology for creative expression in interior spaces, the company says that Planar Mosaic will open up existing new avenues for system integrators and resellers to expand their digital signage efforts with a video wall solution that can deliver compelling displays of art and information or build a unique brand experience in corporate environments, retail, hospitality, museums, or other public spaces such as airports and sports venues.

According to Planar, Planar Mosaic is the only video wall system that allows the integration of three different LCD tile sizes (all with LED-backlight technology) and shapes, including Planar Salvador – a truly square LCD tile at 21.6”” (1:1 square); Planar Pablo – a 46” rectangle tile (16:9 rectangle); and Planar Vincent – a 55” rectangle tile (16:9 rectangle)

Mosaic mounting hardware is said to allow an installation depth of less than 4”, while Mosaic Project Designer Software is a Windows application that allows the creation and preview of a layout of Mosaic tiles.

Planar was recently at ISE where highlights on the company’s stand included the PS-Series of large-format LCD displays.
