Panasonic develops 10-year maintenance-free projector

Panasonic has introduced a new short throw laser projector for control room applications that is claimed to have a maintenance-free lifespan of 10 years.

The PT-RZ575 offers 5,200 lumens and features a constant brightness mode, offering long-term stable performance for mission-critical activity in the typically darkened environment of a control room.

The projector features Panasonic’s Solid Shine laser technology, giving solid reliability and uniform brightness. A dust-resistant case, airtight optical block and filter-less design also enable maintenance-free operation.

“Panasonic’s Solid Shine laser range offer five different operational modes giving the ideal blend of brightness and maintenance-free longevity,” said Hartmut Kulessa, Panasonic projector marketing manager. “In darkened environments such as control and surveillance rooms, this is ideal as often full power isn’t necessary. Users can choose up to three lower-brightness, long life modes that extend 24/7, 365-day operation to 87,600 hours. That’s the equivalent of around 10 years’ uninterrupted service without the need to replace the light source.”

The RZ575 is engineered for 24/7 continuous projection, offering vibrant colours that do not degrade over time. In addition, it features a durable dual drive laser optical engine that gives the projector two discrete light sources, grouping the laser diodes into modules for uninterrupted projection in the unlikely event a light source fails, ideal for mission-critical applications.
