Optoma projectors equip MediaCityUK

MediaCityUK, located on the banks of Manchester’s Ship Canal, has chosen the Optoma EH200ST projector to equip its meeting rooms.

MediaCityUK, located on the banks of Manchester’s Ship Canal, has chosen the Optoma EH200ST projector to equip its meeting rooms.

The development comprises of more than 200 businesses including the BBC, ITV and The University of Salford. There are already educational and training providers along with a mix of restaurants, bars, and shopping in the Lowry Outlet. The scheme also features a wide range of commercial office space, one of the biggest HD studio developments in Europe – dock 10, and transport links via tram and the nearby motorway network.

Peel Media Limited, owners of MediaCityUK, wanted to equip its meeting rooms with the latest technology to showcase its properties to prospective tenants.

It needed to give its property managers and managing director the freedom to roam the room wirelessly while presenting high definition images, videos and maps of the area and Powerpoint presentations. It was important, they could point out details on plans and present close to the screen without casting shadows.

The EH200ST was chosen for the installation due to its HD 1080p resolution and short throw lens.

Iain Ray, part of The Peel Group’s IT support team, was project managing the AV installation. He said: “We knew that we needed a short throw projector due to the room size constraints. When I saw Optoma had launched its new HD 1080p EH200ST, this looked to be the perfect choice.

“The EH200ST has a longer lamp life for the brightness than other projectors we were comparing this against. The EH200ST ticked all our boxes and, knowing Optoma’s reputation for build quality, we chose this model.”
