Cox Communications, a US cable television provider, has completed a renovation of its executive boardroom and corporate museum in its Atlanta HQ, incorporating cutting-edge display technology from NanoLumens.
According to Arch Nelson, NanoLumens regional sales director, Southeast the Cox installation underscores how important direct-view LED visualisation solutions are becoming to corporate customers. “Corporations understand the enormous impact a presentation can have on audiences. Projection-based systems simply cannot compete with the edge-to-edge image quality delivered by LED displays. Add to this the space-saving and environmental benefits of LED technology and it’s clear that LED is the format of choice for 21st century corporations.”
After a careful review of options, the forward-looking media company turned to NanoLumens for six direct-view ENGAGE Series LED displays. The centrepiece of the original executive boardroom was an out-dated projector screen that was replaced with a 10.6ft x 5.99ft NanoLumens 1.6mm pixel pitch display.
The ENGAGE Series display was installed without causing any disruption to the boardroom wall, millwork or doors. It features a natural 1920 X 1080 resolution and complete translation from computer to display, which means that now every person in the room can see the vibrant and crisp visuals on the display – from edge to edge.
In addition, the previous projection system also took up a large amount of space. The ENGAGE Series display enabled Cox to regain nearly 20ft of space behind the boardroom. The regained space was combined with an interior closet to create a new executive office. “One of the great benefits of this display technology is that it does take up much less space, which, from a designer’s perspective, enables us to reimagine how we can make the totality of space available to us more productive for everyone,” said Mandy Culpepper, owner of Mandy Culpepper Interior Designs, who designed the new office.
Cox also decided to incorporate NanoLumens display technology in the company’s new corporate museum in the headquarters lobby. While brainstorming new ways to bring Cox’s history to life with Electrosonic and design firm Gallagher, the company decided to install NanoLumens displays as column integrations in order to add an interactive element to the space. Five 11ft x 1.5ft NanoLumens 2.5mm pixel-pitch ENGAGE Series displays were selected and then programmed with interactive content created by design studio Second Story.
