Northernmost touchscreen driven by ONELAN

GoSaariselkä ski and spa resort opted for a pair of ONELAN Net top box (NTB) 630 media players to drive the world's Northernmost touch info screen.

Tourist hotspot GoSaariselkä, located Saariselkä in northern Finland, which is known for its skiing, hiking and spa days, has installed a new digital signage system driven by ONELAN Net top box (NTB) 630 media players.

Presentation systems provider Avek Esitysratkaisut of Kuopio, Finland, was enlisted to provide a signage solution to publicise information relating to tourist services and activites. The new system had to cope with arctic conditions as temperatures can drop as low as -40º. Its installation would also represent the northernmost touch info screen in the world.

The Avek team opted for two ONELAN Net top box (NTB) 630 media players to drive two 46in portrait screens – one with touch – located on a two-sided kiosk. By ordering both the equipment and the configured software from the same provider has minimised any problems developing, according to GoSaariselkä. It has also enabled the system to be installed very quickly, essential when the temperatures are so cold. The kiosk worked instantly eliminating any need to restart the system in freezing conditions.
