NEC launches virtually silent laser projector

NEC Display Solutions Europe has added to its family of virtually-silent laser projectors, with the P605UL, said to be the company’s quietest projector. Featuring noise levels of just 19dB in eco-mode it is designed for larger surfaces and brighter areas,

With 6,000 ANSI lumen image projection and maintenance-free operation thanks to its filter-free sealed optical engine, users can enjoy 20,000 hours of lifetime from the laser light source. The P605UL is a true “install-and-forget” projector with no need to change lamps or filters; what’s more, it consumes just 357W of power in normal mode, ensuring low lifetime operational costs.

The projector is suitable for a range of applications, from business boardrooms, classrooms and lecture halls, to large venues and retail signage. It also features optional WiFi and embedded MultiPresenter function for wireless presentation and screen sharing.

“Presentations require focus from the audience, but traditional projection equipment is the enemy of concentration,” said Alistair Round, product manager commercial display solutions at NEC Display Solutions Europe. “Audiences have traditionally had to sit in darkened rooms and to cope with fan noise intruding upon the presentation. That’s why NEC has engineered our latest generation of projection devices to eliminate virtually all noise while refusing to compromise on image quality.”

The P605UL will be available from the end of the month.
