Meyer Sound brings clarity to Denmark’s Café Vivaldi

Café Vivaldi has opened its first location in the heart of Copenhagen equipped with Meyer Sound’s IntelligentDC technology. The sound system serves the main floor and mezzanine areas, bringing fidelity to background music during the day and boosting the energy for live music at the weekend. The system was designed and installed by Prime Production.

“With IntelligentDC, we have achieved a whole new level of clarity for both ambient music and high-impact live entertainment,” said Niels Sørensen, technical chief for Café Vivaldi. “And because of the positive feedback we have received on the audio, we will soon be expanding our Meyer Sound systems to the outdoor areas as well.”

IntelligentDC is the Meyer Sound technology that combines the performance advantages of self-powered loudspeakers with the installation efficiency of Class 2 wiring. A single, five-conductor cable carries remote power and balanced audio signal to the loudspeakers from a rack-mount power supply and signal distribution unit.

Peter Petersen, production director of Prime Production, commented: “Café Vivaldi is a very open space, with high ceilings and seating on two levels, and we knew the small footprint of IntelligentDC products would allow us to place the speakers strategically for consistent coverage. With IntelligentDC, we didn’t have to worry about power outlets or an amp room. We could locate the speakers exactly where we needed them.”

Products featured in the installation include 12 MM-4XP self-powered loudspeakers, four UPJ-1XP VariO loudspeakers and three MM-10XP subwoofers. A Galileo loudspeaker management system with one Galileo 616 processor provides system drive and alignment.
