Maverick offers Surface Hubs for rent

AV distributor Maverick has launched a variety of rental and demo options for the Microsoft Surface Hub, which are designed to make it easier for organisations to take advantage of the innovative collaboration system.

A fully integrated system with a large screen, touch and ink input, wide-angle high-definition cameras, infrared presence sensors and high-performance microphones, the Microsoft Surface Hub is ideal for teamwork and collaboration. It is available in 55in and 84in screen sizes with flexible mounting options including portable stands.

Both short and long-term rental opportunities are available, enabling resellers to offer the Hub for evaluation, or to supply additional units on a short-term basis. Maverick is offering daily, weekly, and monthly rentals, and can supply the Hub on height-adjustable floor stands or wall mounts. A full delivery and set-up service using trained technicians is available.

Mark Tildesley (pictured), collaboration director for Maverick, said: “The idea behind the rental scheme is twofold; it makes it easier for customers who want to try the Surface Hub out in a real-world setting before committing to a purchase, but also allows organisations that need additional Hubs for meetings, exhibitions or events to bring in more Hubs for specific occasions and thus enable collaboration for more groups.”

The offer should be especially attractive to the corporate market, he added. “The Surface Hub is an excellent collaboration system and it’s already proving very popular, but for some organisations it’s a big commitment to make. Being able to rent Surface Hubs means they can take full advantage of its capabilities when they need to and the hope is that, having seen the benefits, they will make a full investment in the future. We’re expecting it to lead to more companies making that commitment at some point.”

The programme is being offered on behalf of Maverick in partnership with AV Rental Services, which provides units on a fully managed service basis.

Separately, Microsoft has launched a promotion that provides extra rebates on Surface Hub sales to education customers, for orders placed and fulfilled between 14 July and 30 September 2017. There is no minimum order quantity but there is an upper limit of 50 units per customer of each device. Rebates will need to be claimed by the end of November.

Similar rebates are also available for sales to commercial customers who had, prior to 17 July 2017, bought a maximum of two Surface Hubs. This offer is open until 31 December 2017.
