Kraken Acoustics introduces new aerospace-grade carbon fibre FP1 loudspeaker

As well as launching the new, slim FP1 loudspeaker, the company has upgraded its BB80 Micro-bass loudspeaker.

Loudspeaker manufacturer Kraken Acoustics has launched its FP1 ultra-slim loudspeaker, which is produced using aerospace-quality carbon fibre. The Cheshire-based company has also upgraded its flagship carbon fibre bass loudspeaker, the BB80 micro-bass, to enable its external case to be coloured to complement interior designs.

The FP1 loudspeaker is targeted at architects, interior designers and installers due to is ‘ultra contemporary’ style and its 4mm-deep edge. It can be painted to blend with the décor, while wall and ceiling mounting options allow for inclusion into most room applications without cutting large holes in panels or walls. In addition, each 300mm x 200mm loudspeaker is supplied with wall and ceiling mounting hardware.

Driven through the Kraken Active3 crossover/amplifier processor, the FP1 together with the BB80 form an extremely versatile HF/LF loudspeaker system which enables system designers to position their mid-range and HF content according to their audience and their visual requirements whilst mounting the small-footprint bass loudspeaker separately. The Active3 processor joins seamlessly to existing mixers and amplifier installations.

“This is just the solution we have been looking for, and it has enabled a new versatility in our design range,” said Kevin Sherwood, field sales director.
