Nobu Hotel at Eden Roc Miami Beach has been fitted with a K-array Python loudspeaker system in the restaurant, bar and hotel lobby by New York City-based El Media Group (EMG).
The multi-million dollar hotel is the result of a partnership between Nobu Hotels and Eden Roc Resort Miami Beach, backed by Chef Nobu, actor Robert De Niro and Hollywood producer Meir Teper. It features 210 guest rooms, a Nobu restaurant and bar, 20,000sqft of spa and fitness facilities, and over 70,000sqft of meeting and event space.
Interior designers specified natural elements along with contemporary finishes to fit the core theme of Nobu and also deliver the required acoustics for the hotel.
The restaurant, bar and hotel lobby combine to form one large open space, which meant the system designed and installed by EMG needed to provide good dispersion as well as control to avoid sound overlap.
Co-founder and COO Ernie Lake equipped the bar with eight KP102 Python loudspeakers paired with two 18in KMT18 subwoofers and two 12in KMT12 subwoofers. The restaurant had 12 half-metre KP52 Python loudspeakers integrated into rattan-covered columns and were combined with two 12in KMT12 subwoofers. Both these sections were powered by K-array KA84 amplifiers. The lobby was equipped with three KR402 systems which each include a pair of two KP102 Python loudspeakers sitting atop a 21in KMT21 subwoofer.
