Audio solutions manufacturer Audac unveiled its new range of MERO in-wall speakers at this year’s ISE, along with its new SMA and SMQ amplifier range, which feature the company’s new WaveDynamics technology.
MERO, which is Latin for wall, incorporates three models – 20W, 100W and 120W versions. These high-end in-wall speakers are designed to blend into any interior: the rectangular shape of the speakers offer an unobtrusive design due to the slim grill with very thin border of only 1 mm, meaning grill depth extrudes a surface by only 3.2 mm when installed.
The speaker’s grilles are retained by neodymium magnets which enables assembly in seconds. The series is targeted at applications such Hi-Fi and home cinema installations, as well as multi- zone systems, unobtrusive installations in lounges, bars, boutiques and offices.
The SMA and SMQ amplifiers are Class D power amplifiers offering various output configurations with two or four channels. They are available in output powers of 350 Watt, 500W and 750W. The WaveDynamics DSP processor in combination with the 2.5in LCD display is said to give an unmatched user experience with intuitive functions overview for easy configuration.
Acoustics can be optimised using the filters selectable between Low / High & Band Pass and the 7-Band equaliser which both have adjustable frequencies and Q-factor. Other provided functions include delay and dynamic bass boost. These settings can be custom configured using the front panel of the amplifier, whereby access can be given in two different levels (User & Administrator) using password or USB-key protection. Loudspeaker protection is provided by an output power limiter whereby the maximum output power for every channel (in Watt) can be configured.
What’s more, configuration is made simple by the loudspeaker presets and full system configurations which can selected from a library and uploaded with an USB flash drive.
