ISE 2018: NEC to debut new 4K/UHD displays

NEC Display Solutions Europe is set to launch its latest range of 4K/UHD displays at ISE 2018 next week.

The new MultiSync P and V Series large format displays are available in four sizes from 65in to 98in and feature HDR capabilities, which expands both contrast and colour accuracy.

Both series are suited to a range of industries and environments, from retail and Digital out of Home (DooH), to finance, manufacturing, education, healthcare and transportation. Due to its high image homogeneity and stable uniformity, the P Series is particularly suited to mission-critical control room environments.

The P Series features a brightness output of 700 cd/sqm for clarity even under bright ambient light, while the V Series, at 500 cd/sqm, is for common light conditions. Viewing quality has been significantly enhanced with the latest anti-reflective surface coatings delivering clearly visible messages even under varying and demanding ambient conditions.

The slimline design ensures uncomplicated integration into any application where the simplicity of its shape supports an unhindered viewing experience. The reduced depth allows unobstrusive integration within any interior design or architectural environment. The displays can also be installed in portrait, landscape and table mode.

The P and V Series displays include Open Modular intelligence (OMi) expansion, enabling owners to upgrade the power of their display at any time by integrating one of NEC’s options for Open Pluggable Specification (OPS) Slot-in PCs, Raspberry Pi Compute Modules, or signal interfaces for content feed and computing.

“In 2018 we will see most screens from 65in and above support UHD as end-users seek the best possible picture quality for their applications,” said Erik Elbert, product manager large format displays at NEC Display Solutions Europe. “Our new P and V Series are designed to suit every potential need, from conferencing, control rooms and colour critical workflows to advertisement and information signage.

“Visual quality and ergonomics are becoming an ever-more important consideration in digital signage, which is why we have designed the P and V Series with advanced functionality that allow full control of all visual parameters via the SpectraView Engine, bringing the most precise and natural images in the industry. The new displays and sizes deliver on our promise to create endless impressions that connect, engage, and impress.”
