With the post-show shenanigans now fully accounted for, June 12 is shaping up to be a night to remember at the Wembley Hilton in London. The event, which has early bird tickets available until Thursday, will begin with a drinks reception and three course meal. Projects, technology and teams will then be commended in a three-pronged award scheme, and there will also be two additional awards for achievement and excellence in the AV industry.
The sponsor announcement coincides with the release of Barco’s 2013 annual report, which documents sales of €1.158 billion for the company. This is the third successive year that Barco has exceeded the €1 billion sales mark, and leaves the company with a net gross profit of around €386 million for 2013 (before restructuring and goodwill impairment costs).
A growing list of acquisitions and key verticals seems to be propelling the company year-on-year. Barco has bought 12 companies since 1999. The most recent purchase of enterprise communications company X20 media bore indications of the company’s intention to move beyond display and projection technology.
