Audio-Technica is launching its new Dante-equipped microphone desk stand at InfoComm MEA in Dubai, which opened on Monday. The new ATND8677 follows on from the ATND971 network boundary microphone, launched earlier in the year, and offers installers previously unavailable simplicity in adding gooseneck microphones to Dante audio network. It has the the added benefits of GPIO-over-Dante enabled control – a new network feature developed specifically with Audio-Technica – for simple, flexible operation without the need for analogue audio and control cabling.
Removing the need for a separate standalone Dante audio interface, while adding useful ‘on-stand’ switch and indicator functionality, the ATND8677 connects directly to the audio network via a standard RJ-45 connector and structured cabling, allowing for flexibility in installation and quick re-locations. The desk stand will also work natively with both Symetrix and Biamp control software – both manufacturers supporting the new Dante GPIO feature – to allow for highly integrated operation with Symetrix Edge, Radius 12×8 and Radius AEC plus Biamp’s Tesira DSP networking solutions.
The ATND8677 features a capacitive switch with a green/red LED light switch surround, 80Hz/80dB low-cut filter, switchable gain (+30dB/+40dB/+50dB), phantom power and selectable toggle/momentary switch operation.
Audio-Technica has also announced the introduction of a new five-year limited warranty on all Engineered Sound installation microphones. New Engineered Sound products purchased from an authorised Audio-Technica reseller on or after 1 October 2014 are warranted for five years to be free of defects in materials and workmanship.
Audio-Technica is exhibiting at InfoComm MEA 2014 in conjunction with its UAE distribution partner VV & Sons.
