InfoComm 2015: Sharp reveals new interactive displays and videowall monitors

Sharp has unveiled a number of new products this week at InfoComm, the first of which is the range of AQUOS BOARD interactive display systems.

The product launches come from Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America, which is a division of Sharp Electronics. There are two AQUOS BOARD interactive displays launched, the 80in Class PN-L803C and the 70in Class PN-C703B.

“Sharp has expanded the best-selling AQUOS BOARD display line to meet the changing needs of education and business environments,” said Gary Bailer, director of product management, Information Display Products. “Designed for every budget in mind, Sharp AQUOS BOARD interactive displays foster smooth and effortless collaboration in a wide variety of settings.”

The PN-L803C display employs Sharp capacitive touch technology and up to three PN-L803C displays can be connected and used to display sequential pages that can be navigated by swiping side to side.

Sharp Touch Viewer is a touch-operated onscreen user interface that lets you easily manipulate different types of files, including Microsoft Office applications, videos, and webpages. Being able to simultaneously open and handle a variety of file types allows you to have more active meetings.

The PN-C703B is expected to ship in July.

Also at InfoComm, Sharp announced a new 55in PN-V551 LED ultra-slim bezel professional videowall monitor featuring Sharp’s Uniform Colour Calibration Technology (UCCT).

“Recognising the difficulty installers face performing colour calibration with videowall displays, Sharp is proud to launch a new 55in Class videowall platform offering incredible out-of-box colour and brightness uniformity,” said Mike Marusic, senior VP, marketing and operations, Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America. “With UCCT, Sharp has taken the guesswork out of laborious and time consuming software calibrations, ensuring a superb picture every time.”

The PN-V551 monitor combines Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixel) resolution with a display brightness of 700 cd/m2.

Four PN-V551 monitors set up in a 2 x 2 configuration will enable users to display every pixel of native 4K Ultra HD (3,840 x 2,160 pixel) content on the equivalent of a 110in Class screen. In multi-monitor configurations, optional Mirror Bezel Frames help minimise visible lines between PN-V551 monitors by reflecting mirror images of the display content.

The PN-V551 monitor is aimed at retail, transport hubs, command and control, corporate lobbies/meeting rooms and other professional applications that require 24/7 operation.
