disguise has been selected among the best-in-class technology partners for Illuminarium Experiences, a first-of-its-kind immersive programmable, theatre initiative transporting visitors to the wildest corners of the world, from one location. Illuminarium has chosen disguise to provide unparalleled media playback systems and video server technology – pushing breathtaking 4K content on one of the largest LED canvases in the world.
Illuminarium’s immersive venues will transport millions to places they can only dream of by placing them “inside” another world with techniques used in traditional motion picture production and virtual reality. Visitors can experience real-world, filmed content (like a safari) and authentic, re-created worlds in an immersive environment. WILD: A Safari Experience, the first venue, opened July 1 in Atlanta, taking visitors around the African Safari on a multi-sensory journey brought to life with the help of cutting-edge technology, including the latest disguise hardware.
20 disguise vx 4 media servers and 12 rx rendering nodes power real-time generated cinematic scenes at a 240-degree native field of view (versus the average 210-degree human field of view), surrounding visitors in a sensory space of sight, sound and scale unlike any other.
“Illuminarium are completely reinventing the game in immersive real-time entertainment and we are truly honoured to play a part in it,” said Tom Rockhill, disguise chief commercial officer. “Our vx and rx machines have been engineered to power photorealistic real-time graphics of the highest quality on the largest canvases and our partnership with Illuminarium can perfectly show off these capabilities. We cannot wait to see them take the world by storm!”
Following Atlanta, Illuminarium will open in Las Vegas at AREA 15 in January 2022, followed by Miami, at Mana in the Wynwood Arts District, in fall 2022. Other North American locations under consideration are New York City, Chicago, Toronto, Montreal, Los Angeles and Austin.
