Humberside Police installs Revolabs mics for mission-critical discussions

Revolabs Executive HD wireless microphone system has been deployed at the UK’s Humberside Police Force. The system has been integrated with Weston Digital Technologies’ Symphony Ambient Recording solution to provide wireless recording capabilities.

Covering a population of over 1.14 million citizens within the districts of North East Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire, East Yorkshire, and the urban area of Kingston upon Hull, Humberside Police required a mission-critical recording solution for its highly demanding, fast-paced, and dynamic environment.

The wireless ambient recording solution allows Humberside police to manage large-scale incidents from multiple control rooms while maintaining meticulous quality and compliance standards. Revolabs’ wireless, wearable microphone system, allows officers to gain the flexibility and performance needed for managing serious incidents without compromising the force’s best practice requirements.

“In police command and control facilities such as the Humberside Police Force, mission-critical incident management discussions require the ability to operate within multiroom environments,” said Mike Partridge (pictured right), commercial director at Weston Digital Technologies. “As a result, Weston needed to select a wireless microphone solution that could deliver a combination of exceptional audio quality, total versatility, and fail-safe security. The combination of Revolabs’ Executive HD and our Symphony Ambient Recording solution provides users with a flexible, safe, high-end feature set that is also incredibly easy to use. The ability to replay ambient audio synchronized with the call recordings and radio communications is invaluable for incident reconstruction.”

Supporting up to eight wireless microphones, multiple units can be linked together to support up to 32 microphones per area while integrating with all control systems via RS-232 or Ethernet. An intuitive, front-panel LCD display provides simple control and configuration on-location, while management software is available for the convenience of remotely monitoring and controlling the system via Ethernet connection.

“Our new wireless solution allows senior officers to focus on managing incidents without worrying about audio recording elements, ensuring that best practices are followed at all times,” said Dave Christison, senior infrastructure engineer at Humberside Police. “With Revolabs microphones attaching directly to clothing or lanyards, officers are also able to move freely between control rooms without dropping communication recordings while 128-bit encryption ensures that all our communications remain fully secure, providing crucial protection for our transmissions.”

“As critical communication environments such as courtrooms and police stations turn to wireless technologies for their audio capture requirements, sound quality, design intuitiveness, and robust security become central elements to their installations’ reliability and success,” said Marc Cremer, COO at Revolabs. “Our Executive HD 4- and 8-channel wireless microphone system was engineered with these precise requirements in mind, allowing users such as the Humberside Police Force to perform their duties with the reassurance that audio capture remains clear, safe, and extremely flexible. We are thrilled to pair our system with Weston’s Symphony Ambient Recording solution and look forward to similar collaborations in the future.”
