Extron achieves notable energy efficiency first

Extron has become the first US manufacturer to receive EEC - Energy Efficiency Certification from UL Environment Inc.

Extron has become the first US manufacturer to receive EEC – Energy Efficiency Certification from UL Environment Inc. As a result, several Extron-engineered products now carry the EEC mark, signifying compliance with multiple government energy-efficiency standards, including strict adherence to US EPA ENERGY STAR Version 2.0 requirements.

An independent third-party that tests and certifies products for compliance to a range of domestic and international energy efficiency requirements, UL Environment undertook an extensive assessment before qualifying the Extron-designed and -engineered PS Series Desktop Power Supplies under the ENERGY STAR Single Voltage External AC-AC and AC-DC Power Supplies Specification Version 2.0, and the professional XTRA Series Power Amplifiers under ENERGY STAR Audio/Video Specification 2.0.

“We are proud to be the first US company to earn UL Environment’s Energy Efficiency Certification for our industry-leading, ENERGY STAR qualified power supply and amplifier products,” said Andrew Edwards, president of Extron Electronics. “Extron is committed to providing our customers with products that meet the highest standards of quality, performance and efficiency.”

Looking to the future, Extron’s vice president of marketing for Europe, Rainer Stiehl, told IE: “Extron will continue its efforts to design and manufacture products and tools that promote energy savings, such as our highly efficient ENERGY STAR qualified desktop power supplies, audio power amplifiers that reduce operating costs and help meet green building requirements, and network-connected monitoring and management tools for long-term conservation.”
