In a venue that resembles the interior of a warehouse, Bread Street Kitchen is Gordon Ramsay’s newest culinary venture based in London’s East End.
The 250-seat gourmet restaurant required a sound distribution system that contributed to its aim of providing ‘a feast for all the senses’, leading the restaurant to turn to the expertise of CGA Integration and Electro-Voice.
To eliminate the reverberation characteristic of large open venues, the CGA Integration team designated seven acoustic zones, and installed a total of 20 of Electro-Voice’s ZX3 two-way loudspeakers, powered by three CPS8.5 Class D amplifiers, which were equipped with RCM-810 remote control modules.
System control and sound processing relies on a NetMax N8000 digital matrix controller that permits user-friendly operation via PWS-4 wall panels, which make it possible to regulate the volume and tone in each zone individually.
“In our view, absolute control of the sound level in the individual areas was imperative at all times,” explains Chris Gunton, CGA: “Furthermore, thanks to NetMax and the IRIS-Net software, we can also access the installation from our company headquarters, which means the customer can count on our support and supervision without any of our team actually having to be present on site. This guarantees optimised preventative maintenance and at the same time saves time and money. It therefore represents an enormous advantage for our customers.”
