Futuresource Consulting has released a new video exploring the evolving role of professional displays in education. Hosted by Claire Kerrison, principal analyst, consulting and advisory, and also featuring Jeremy Wills, principal analyst, professional displays – and co-author of the firm’s recent education display report – the session provides a deep dive into the trends, challenges, and opportunities shaping the education sector.
The video is part of the monthly 2025 Future Sessions, which provide insights from analysts and guest speakers about key industry trends.
The discussion highlights the growing importance of LCD interactive flat panel displays (IFPDs), LCD flat panel professional displays (FPD), LED video walls, and esports labs in modern classrooms. However, it also underscores the challenges schools face, including budget constraints, underutilisation of technology, and a lack of teacher training.
Kerrison said: “While display technologies are becoming more advanced and accessible, their impact is limited without proper integration and support. Our research shows that nearly 40 percent of teachers have not received any training on EdTech tools, which significantly affects learning outcomes.”
The session also touches on the global disparity in EdTech adoption, the commoditisation of IFPDs, and the early-stage integration of AI into classroom technologies.
Futuresource encourages EdTech vendors to focus on long-term partnerships with schools, offering not just hardware but also training and support that align with educational goals.
