dnp launches bundled laser strategy at InfoComm 2015

dnp denmark introduced a radical change to its product roadmap at InfoComm 2015 by introducing bundled optical flat screen solutions.

dnp denmark introduced a radical change to its product roadmap at InfoComm 2015 by introducing bundled optical flat screen solutions – in the form of the dnp LaserPanel and dnp LaserPanel Touch.

The 100in dnp LaserPanel Touch is designed for interactivity, especially for the meeting room market. This solution also enables presenters to connect iPad, smartphone or laptop direct to the screen.

The dnp stand was themed around large-scale 4K content, optimised by the kind of ambient light rejection for which the company is well known. Dominating the stand was the giant 220in diagonal dnp Supernova Infinity (constructed from 2 x 2 virtually seamless tiled panels), along with the extra-large dnp Supernova XL. The company also previewed the next generation of Supernova technology, using a new lenticular structure and VIOSO software to blend two overlapping projectors.

“The idea was to go large and promote these exciting new technologies to the global market,” explained dnp denmark’s Soren Kraemmergaard, summarising the show. “And it really succeeded. It was also the most successful show for us in terms of consultant and specifier visits. dnp has a reputation for being the best for operating in ambient light conditions, and many were driven to the stand by the brilliant 4K content we were able to show, out of curiosity. They wanted to listen and learn, which is vital when we are talking large screen solutions and the rejection of ambient light.”

While Doug Brashear and his Applied Screen Technologies team (now operating as dnp north america) were addressing the local market, Kraemmergaard reports that most of the company’s international distributors attended from across all five continents — and were delighted with what they saw.

He said that the new dnp LaserPanel bundled solution couldn’t have been received more positively. “This represented a completely different strategy, and the response was fantastic. We have never offered an all-in-one concept before which only has to be plugged in. We are battling conventional LCD flat panels in small meeting rooms but our solution is bigger and less expensive,” said Kraemmergaard.

“Ultra-short throw projection is also currently causing a stir and we were able to demonstrate this with the dnp LaserPanel Touch, for those wanting interactivity.”

The overall result, he said, was one of the most successful trade show appearances in the history of dnp.
