Nokia one of the innovative and technology leaders across mobile, fixed and cloud networks, and the Spanish digital signage software manufacturer, ICON Multimedia, have signed a global distribution agreement that promotes the competitiveness of railway operators, and the digital transformation of the stations.
This strategic alliance allows the two companies to tackle worldwide projects by integrating the digital passenger experience solutions that ICON Multimedia develops, within the Telecom Integration Package Services that Nokia offers and deploys for its clients.
“ICON Multimedia was born with the mission of involving our partners’ clients in an innovative and exciting way”, said Enrique Hornos, CEO of ICON Multimedia. “After Nokia’s interest in our CMS, and the formidable relationship between both companies, we knew that joining forces would allow us to enhance the solutions that can be provided to the different operators, taking them to a further level, even more cutting-edge.”
Richard Kitts, senior VP of global enterprise solutions services, Nokia, added: “Nokia has deployed mission-critical networks to over 2200 leading enterprise customers in the transport, energy, large enterprise, manufacturing, webscale, and public sector segments around the globe. Regarding transportation, we are dedicated to providing safe and secure railway communications, and contributing to the improved operational efficiency, safety, and competitiveness of rail travel. The cooperation between ICON Multimedia and Nokia will contribute to more and more customers seeing the benefits of these solutions.”
At Nokia’s headquarters in Espoo, Finland both companies will design a digital transformation showroom, in which leading-edge technologies will be incorporated, demonstrating the impact for customers and the improvements to the user experience in both smart stations and smart cities.
