BenQ UK welcomes new B2B sales director as part of restructure

Sam Pomfret has been appointed as the company’s new director of B2B sales

Display solutions manufacturer BenQ has appointed Sam Pomfret as its new UK director of B2B sales, as part of an internal restructure to make the company more ‘vertically driven’.

Bringing 30 years of industry experience to the role, Pomfret joins BenQ from AV distributor Sahara to lead the B2B sales team as it transitions towards providing display solutions with a greater focus on end users.

“I am looking forward to a new challenge at BenQ at this pinnacle moment in the AV industry,” Pomfret commented. “During my time in distribution, I have seen how end-user trends have evolved, and continue to evolve today. The product range focuses on high-end signage, smart meeting and collaboration solutions, and they are strong in both education and corporate environments. With the explosion in meeting room technologies, BenQ has positioned itself at the cusp of this change. I’m looking forward to working with BenQ’s exciting portfolio at a time of huge opportunity for the business.”

The change in leadership coincides with BenQ’s new, vertically-driven restructure and investment in personnel across its B2B division. With new products entering the market for corporate and education verticals, a team has been assembled to work with integrators to bring them to market more efficiently and with improved end-user support. New positions in the company include Lisa Yates, head of workplace technology, Chris Goff, head of pro AV & education, Gemma Jimenez, senior sales manager, Laura Harle, marketing manager for workplace technology, Jess Golding marketing manager for education and Pro AV, and Carly Cheshire, head of B2C sales.

Royce Lye, managing director at BenQ UK, said: “In my almost 20 years at BenQ this year’s refresh is probably my most exciting. Sam’s appointment is a significant one, taking our AV business to a new level.

“Carly has been with BenQ over six years so to have such a strong and determined individual overseeing our growing consumer business is reassuring that we continue to grow in all sectors of BenQ’s B2C portfolio.

“Having two excellent marketing managers, Laura and Jess, is central to our business growth and challenges the traditional role of marcom in the tech sector. Promotions are always a positive sign and seeing Lisa and Chris move onto the senior management team, as a line of business heads gives me confidence we have the right people in the right place.”
