Daktronics has designed, manufactured and installed a curved LED display at NewPark shopping centre in Newark, California. The display is surrounded by linear freeform elements that encase an elevator at the retail space.
The recently installed video display creates a visual centrepiece within the mall and offers a unique marketing opportunity for the mall’s mix of leading national and local retailers.
The main display is approximately 5.1m high by 3.9m wide using tight 6mm line spacing for clear imagery and viewing. The video display is part of a larger mall renovation aiming to strengthen its competitive position.
The main video display is surrounded with additional freeform LED elements to create a digital façade with ambient lighting. The display system is claimed to be the first of its kind and needed a custom, Daktronics-engineered design that covers a total of 80.6m. Pairing the freeform technology with the main curved display offers promotional opportunities for mall tenants as well as community and non-profit organisations.
