D3 LED partners with Signature Outdoor for Bullring LED billboard

D3 LED's European hub has partnered with Birmingham-based outdoor billboard operator Signature Outdoor to create a 4x6m portrait LED billboard which displays content as part of the latter's CityVision advertising initiative.

Dynamic Digital Displays Europe – the European arm of global technology company D3 LED – has completed its first European project with the installation of a 4x6m portrait LED billboard. The new display is situated by one of Birmingham’s central arterial roads which leads into the Bullring shopping centre.

Birmingham’s leading outdoor billboard operator Signature Outdoor commissioned the display as part of a new multisite network of roadside digital billboards for the regional “CityVision” initiative.

CityVision Bullring is a 10mm SMD outdoor application comprised of more than 663,000 individual LEDs and was designed to host a wide range of static and animated content—both driven by D3’s Advanced Element Processor TM that allows for the delivery of sharper, higher quality images across the display system.

“We are very excited to be working with Signature Outdoor on this prestigious and innovative project. I believe the arrival of D3 LED technology to be a major step forward for the UK and European marketplace,” said David Neale, director at Dynamic Digital Displays Europe.

Steve George, managing partner at Signature Outdoor commented “The D3 team have delivered a seamless and timely turnkey solution, and I am particularly impressed with the quality of all aspects of work. The unique D3 LED display construction is extremely versatile which will really benefit our wider digital development plans.”

Signature Outdoor reported a high level of demand for the new digital advertising space ever since the CityVision Bullring display went live in September. Signature Outdoor clients -i ncluding Audi, Sony Pictures, Clinique and HTC – have been quick to take advantage of the high-traffic digital destination.

The display system’s creative and tactical flexibility have also allowed News International to use day parts to run breaking news stories, Disney has promoted the opening of their Show at the NIA, and Everything Everywhere used the display to launch their new 4G network – a UK-wide event which also incoporated the use of Optoma projectors.
