CloudPresence will promote, support VC

A new enterprise aimed at promoting the video communications channel has been formed that will encourage resellers to take up the opportunities presented byVCas well as promoting the uptake of VC among users.

A new enterprise aimed at promoting the video communications channel has been formed by the Technology Channels Association’s past president, Keith Warburton, together with Imago Group founder Ian Vickerage and Maggie Zaboura, head of marketing and PR agency Zaboura.

CloudPresence will encourage resellers to take up the opportunities presented by modern VC technology as well as promoting the uptake of VC among users by providing education and information for current and prospective users and resellers. As an independent body, it will represent the views and best interests of the VC community to governments. Building on Keith Warburton’s experience in establishing channel communities CloudPresence aims to develop a national and international partnering service for VC resellers, as well as providing a forum for the whole channel, both virtually and face-to-face.

“Video communications is a technology whose time has come,” said Keith Warburton. “Most of the developed countries face great challenges with regard to business travel and the whole world is suffering the impact of climate change. VC offers a solution to some of those issues, but the technology and the rapid market growth bring their own challenges. We aim to promote the technology, to facilitate reseller partnering nationally and internationally, and to help address some of the issues.”

“The VC market has enjoyed fantastic growth and profitability,” said Ian Vickerage (pictured). “The issue now is how it is going to keep up with the demand caused by various technological developments, not least being desktop-connected HD video. There is 2,000% growth forecast in that area alone. A great opportunity exists for IT resellers and their clients to benefit from the new market. CloudPresence will shortly be announcing a fantastic new collaborative initiative that will help further the uptake of the technology.”

“It is a major breakthrough that the UK’s Department for Transport is now officially charged with exploring alternatives to travel and we will be working with them and representing the views of the VC community,” concluded Warburton. “It is far better to have a united channel voice than one or two individual ones. CloudPresence welcomes interest from resellers, vendors and distributors and we look forward to representing the cohesive views of the channel to the DfT as it consults on alternatives to travel.”
