Canon launches WiFi enabled installation projector

Canon Europe has announced the launch of the Canon XEED WUX500 WiFi-enabled compact installation projector. The XEED WUX500 offers flexibility allowing users to connect a number of WiFi-enabled devices and presentation control by multiple users being able to input images, video and audio wirelessly.

The projector also features PC-less functionality so that presentations can be made directly from a USB to a single projector. Using edge-blending technology, images can be created using up to nine projectors in 14 different pattern options connected with LAN cables.

The XEED WUX500 targets use in a range of environments including engineering and design, simulation and control rooms, conference centres and boardrooms, museums and visitor attractions and higher education.

The WUXGA native resolution and LCOS technology combined with Canon’s AISYS (Aspectual Illumination System) optical system provide improved image quality and smooth graphics. The lens has a constant aperture across the zoom range preventing brightness degradation and the projector also supports HDBaseT via a single LAN cable, which can span up to 100m.

“The Canon XEED WUX500 was designed to meet increasing market demand for an easy to install, WiFi connected compact installation projector that offers exceptional image quality,” said Andreas Herrnböck, European business development manager projector, visual communications, Canon Europe.

“Conference centres, boardrooms and reception areas, for example, require a bright, clear image, capable of cutting through high levels of ambient light. The addition of Wi-Fi connectivity to this new model also creates new opportunities for education, meeting collaboration and information sharing with projections that achieve clear, detailed images, with good contrast and vivid colours. In addition, the PC-less edge blending function provides a cost effective solution for bright multiscreen projections, especially for use within museums and visitor attractions.”
