IBC Accelerator Programme: deadline for pitches extended

Call for Challenges deadline has been extended until Wednesday, 8 January 2025 for the IBC Accelerator Kickstart Day on Wednesday 12 February 2025 at BBC Broadcasting House, London

IBC has announced the extension of its Call for Challenges deadline for the 2025 Accelerator Media Innovation Programme. The new deadline is Wednesday, 8 January 2025, providing an extra month to submit an entry in order to have the chance to pitch at the kickstart day event in February 2025, and participate in a collaborative R&D project.

The IBC Accelerator Kickstart Day will take place on Wednesday 12 February 2025 at the BBC Broadcasting House, London. There will be a full day of media industry innovation, involving key insights, discussions and importantly a series of pitches for new accelerator project ideas selected from submissions received via the application form. Attendance will be limited.

The IBC Accelerator Programme is a nucleus for collaborative innovation within the media & entertainment ecosystem. Project challenges are proposed by the buyers of technology, who then form project teams by recruiting co-champions and vendor participants with the specific explore and develop solutions that will be showcased at the IBC Show in September 2025.

Entry to the IBC Accelerator Programme is open to all in the media technology ecosystem, with projects covering a wide range of relevant industry challenges in topical areas including AI, connectivity, sustainability, IP evolution, news & disinformation, ad tech, cybersecurity & content protection, immersive XR tech among many other areas of media technology evolution.

Just 12 selected challenges will be pitched at Kickstart Day and only 8 will be selected to be developed for showcasing their solutions at the IBC2025 show, 12-15 September at the RAI Amsterdam.

The IBC Accelerator Kickstart Day is free to attend for broadcasters, platforms, studios and key media & technology vendors in the ecosystem. Please note attendance will also be limited due to venue capacity and preference will be given to those involved in potential projects that will be selected to pitch at the event
