Bosch says that it is the first supplier worldwide to offer a single-source EN54-certified pro sound and voice alarm solution. This comes as its voice alarm control and indicating equipment (VACIE) has been certified as being in accordance with EN54-16, following on from several loudspeaker series from Electro-Voice having been certified compliant with EN54-24.
Oliver Sahm, director application design with Bosch Communications Systems, said: “Bosch is the first company worldwide to be offering a flexible and scalable, EN-certified system comprising pro sound and ELA [messaging /voice alarm/evacuation]components from a single source.”
“We noted a trend in the market towards combined fire warning and voice alarm systems,” continued Sahm. “With the certification of our Dynacord Promatrix 8000 system, which includes pro sound components, as being in accordance with the EN54-16 standard, we are offering our customers in this segment of the market, too, tested products with a corresponding quality guarantee.”
In addition to the Dynacord Promatrix 8000 system, the following products have also been certified as EN54-16 compliant:
• The Electro-Voice NetMax N8000 system controller and the Dynacord P64 digital audio matrix manager, including the corresponding CobraNet and Dante network cards
• Electro-Voice CPS (pictured) and Dynacord DSA multi-channel amplifiers as well as the RCM-810 remote control module
• The LML-1 loudspeaker line measuring load module for real-time monitoring of 100V loudspeaker lines
Tobias Pirtsch, application design and tech support installed sound, commented: “To provide our customers with the requisite details, we will be offering in future not only a functional description document but also special training in the EN guidelines and correct implementation in system design.”
“It is primarily the customer that profits from our observance of the EN54 guidelines,” said Sahm. “The certification gives our customers long-term security in the planning and implementation of their projects and does so Europe-wide. Furthermore, it is highly convenient for the installation companies to be able to acquire certified pro sound and ELA systems from a single source, and gives them at the same time new possibilities for the implementation of high-quality sound reinforcement projects without compromising safety objectives.”
“Such certificates are a boon above all for modern multifunction arenas: a combined solution comprising pro sound and voice alarm systems reduces costs and eliminates the need for a second installation,” added Pirtsch.
