The AVB standards-promoting group (whose marketing work group chairman, Lee Minich, is pictured) has been joined by Bosch Communications Systems.
The announcement of Bosch Security Systems, Inc, Communications Systems Division’s membership follows hot on the heels of the news in early November that Yamaha had joined the AVnu Alliance.
Established in August 2009, the AVnu Alliance has expanded rapidly in line with the emergence of Audio/Video Bridging (AVB) as a leading topic of debate across the pro-audio world. From a line-up of founder members comprising Broadcom, Cisco Systems, Harman International , Intel Corp, Samsung Electronics and Xilinx, the Alliance has announced a slew of new Promoter Members, with the most recent additions including Analog Devices, Barco, Pelagicore, Shure, Biamp, Yamaha – and now Bosch Communications Systems.
Lee Minich (pictured), AVnu Alliance marketing work group chairman, commented: “We welcome Bosch Communications Systems to the AVnu Alliance, and in joining our shared vision for interoperable AV networking via Audio Video Bridging (AVB) technologies.”
Bosch Communications Systems’ vice-president of engineering and technology, Bill Scott, said that the company “is a strong supporter of open media networking standards. We believe that a goal of media networking development should be universal interoperability. For this to happen, the industry needs to educate the marketplace, and it needs a widely accepted compliance certification process. Bosch Communications Systems is pleased to have joined the AVnu Alliance in order to promote these principles.”
