AVM, the UK’s largest audiovisual system integrator, has acquired VC World Ltd (trading as VC-NET), a leading provider of managed video services. This is AVM’s seventh acquisition in the last six years.

This acquisition (AVM’s seventh in the last six years) adds capacity and specialist networking skills to AVM’s managed videoconferencing and telepresence services; it also adds audio and web conferencing to AVM’s portfolio.

VC-NET has been operating for 11 years, providing audio- and videoconferencing solutions to a UK blue-chip client base.

Sandy MacPherson (pictured), AVM’s chairman, commented, “We are delighted to welcome VC-NET and its staff into our group. VC-NET’s extensive experience and resources in both networking and conferencing will complement our AVM Connect services and allow us to offer complete unified communications solutions to our clients.”

Chris Wade, VC-NET executive chairman, commented “AVM is an excellent and natural choice for VC-NET’s evolution. AVM’s greater scale and AV Global Alliance enables our customers to fully realise our ambitions for our managed video services, which has had such a tremendous take-up since its launch in autumn last year.”
