G&D provides global remote access for KVM systems

RemoteAccess-GATE allows operation via LAN, WAN and the Internet

KVM manufacturers Guntermann & Drunck (G&D) is enabling its customers to remotely operate KVM systems via LAN, WAN and the Internet thanks to RemoteAccess-GATE. A stand-alone device that links the two worlds of KVM systems and the networks, it provides unblocked, BIOS-level access to connected computers worldwide.

Using software or web clients on a PC, operators can establish a secure connection to the RemoteAccess-GATE via the Internet, WAN or LAN to provide remote access to the KVM installation and the connected computers. G&D offer three different web clients in order to get the best possible result.

It supports 4K and Ultra-HD resolutions at 30Hz with a 4:2:2 sampling rate, as well as HD resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 at 60Hz with a 4:4:4 colour depth. The stand-alone device uses HDMI video signals and embedded HDMI audio (digital). Adapters are available for VGA, DVI, Mini DisplayPort and USB-C. With the use of additional hardware, USB data can be transferred from the remote workstation via the RemoteAccess-GATE and the KVM installation to the local computer.

According to G&D, RemoteAccess-GATE provides configurable bandwidths to work over the Internet, LAN or WAN and to enable remote IT support at any time. Users can use the device to connect to a single remote computer or to the entire KVM system.

It allows simultaneous access for up to eight users. Configuration is possible via HTML browser or the serial service interface. The RemoteAccess-GATE includes AES encryption, IP access control, user and group permissions, KVM session encryption and other security features.
